Green Tea Antioxidants
Many studies have shown that green tea if consumed in great enough quantities is able to aids in the protection against some major diseases including certain cancers, diabetes, and stroke. This antioxidant has been shown to be 100 times more potent than vitamin C and 25 times more potent than vitamin E in the protection of the body's organs and cells. Because of this potency green tea is revered in the fight against cancer since it has the properties necessary to protect cell and DNA damage which are cancer causing.
The benefits of these antioxidants are:- The prevention of cell mutations and thus lessening cell damage. This will help to prevent the growth of tumors.
- Stops the enzymes produced by the liver and that causes pro=carcinogens to become carcinogens which are seen as cancer agents.
- The blood is able to hold more antioxidants.
- Shown to destroy cancer cells, especially those of the prostate.
- In smokers there is a reduction in blood vessels that become damaged.
- White blood cell count is improved.
- Lower risk of prostate cancer and breast cancer.
- Lower blood sugar.
These benefits are just the tip of the green tea antioxidants
phenomenon. There are a lot more benefits to be had and scientists are
discovering many more as time goes by.
The potency of the antioxidants found in green tea makes it seem like a
cure all for too many persons. Caution should always be exercised, as
